Member of DWP Citizens Board Appointed by Mayor Resigns
Pacific Palisades resident Dennis A. Tito, president of the citizens board that oversees the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power, said he will resign at the end of the month to devote more time to his business.
Tito joined the board in August 1993 as one of the first round of appointees of Mayor Richard Riordan. During the last three years, the board has overseen an ambitious restructuring, including a 20% staff reduction, of the giant city-owned utility in preparation for the coming deregulation of public utilities.
In his letter of resignation to Riordan, Tito said his decision to leave the board before his term ends in two years was based “primarily on my desire to devote more time to my business career.”
