Commission to Review Shopping Center Plans

Share

With one new shopping center rapidly taking shape at the corner of Westlake and Thousand Oaks boulevards, the Planning Commission on Monday is scheduled to review a proposal for more shops just across the street.

Thousand Oaks commissioners will consider plans for Northgate Plaza, a 101,420-square-foot shopping center at the intersection’s southwest corner. On the southeast corner, construction is underway on the Promenade Center, a shopping plaza about twice Northgate’s size.

As proposed by developer Dollinger Properties, Northgate would consist of four buildings, with an Ethan Allen store one of the major tenants. Two of the buildings will be restaurants along Thousand Oaks and Westlake boulevards. Parking will be provided in a 477-space central lot.

City planners have recommended that commissioners approve the project.
