Colleges / Campus scene : Bakken to Lead History Honor Society
Gordon M. Bakken, a history professor at Cal State Fullerton, has been elected president of Phi Alpha Theta, the national honor society in history, for a two-year term.
Bakken, who has taught at the university since 1969, is an expert in U.S. legal history and constitutional history, the American West and U.S. military history.
Among other works, he has written “The Development of Law on the Rocky Mountain Frontier, 1850-1912,” “Practicing Law in Frontier California” and “Surviving the North Dakota Depression.”
