Brush fire--An article Saturday gave an incorrect location for a 20-acre brush fire in Simi Valley started by a 12-year-old trying to lure a snake out of a hole. The blaze, in the Bridle Path section of the city, began in the 500 block of Azure Hills Drive.
By 2:15 p.m., the fire was about 80% contained. Firefighters had a line around the blaze by 3:05, fire officials said. No one was injured in the blaze, and no structures were damaged.
The cost of putting out the fire, estimated to be about $10,000, will probably have to be paid by the boys’ families.
