Council OKs Plan for Capital Improvements

Share

A plan for carrying out more than $54 million in capital improvement projects over the next seven years was approved this week by the City Council.

Cities must submit capital improvement plans to the Orange County Transportation Authority each year to be eligible for funding from Measure M, which was approved by county voters in 1990.

Many of the projects slated for fiscal 1996-97 are related to the widening of the Santa Ana Freeway, scheduled to begin in December in Anaheim and continue for four years.

Roadways scheduled for improvements include Harbor and State College boulevards, Katella and La Palma avenues, Ball Road and Euclid Street.

In other action, the council gave preliminary approval to municipal code revisions concerning sex-oriented businesses. Final approval of the changes will be considered at the July 9 council meeting.
