Riverside’s Lucero Wins Speedway Event

Steve Lucero of Riverside won the four-lap scratch main event in the weekly speedway motorcycle program Friday at the Orange County Fairgrounds.

Lance King of Peoria, Ariz., was second and Brad Oxley of San Juan was third, followed by Gary Hicks of Riverside and John Aden of Apple Valley.

Jesse Finch of Orange won the eight-lap handicap main event. Lucero was second, Don Odom of Huntington Beach was third, Shawn McConnell of Brea was fourth and Oxley was fifth.
