Information Sought on Home Robbery

Ventura County Crime Stoppers is looking for information on a home robbery that occurred about 10 a.m. June 13 in the 500 block of Ruth Drive in Newbury Park.

A woman resident who arrived home after finishing some errands was surprised by a man described as Filipino; with a flat-top haircut; 5 feet, 10 inches tall; wearing a long-sleeve, flannel shirt and blue jeans.

The man overpowered the woman, hitting her on the head several times with a blunt object, said Det. Joe Braga of the Ventura County Sheriff’s Department.

The woman, who suffered bruises and minor cuts, told detectives that along with the Filipino she heard the voices of two other men, Braga said.

The men reportedly stole about $8,000 worth of goods and the woman’s car--a four-door 1995 Toyota Avalon with license plate number 3LZN550.
