JETHAWK REPORT : A Negative Turns Out Positive

Share

The JetHawks had no breaks Friday, which was actually good.

Preliminary X-rays of catcher Scot Sealy’s left big toe were negative.

Sealy injured the toe Wednesday night and had blood drained from it Friday. He will sit out at least the next three games, with more X-rays coming next week.

“Sometimes the breaks in those digits can be hidden,” JetHawk trainer Rob Nodine said. “We’ll take another X-ray just to be sure.”

The status of pitchers Chris Beck and Jeff Pearce is unknown. The duo underwent MRIs Friday, with results coming Monday.

Thursday night’s record crowd at the Hangar was high both in number (6,778 fans) and in IQ.

“Sometimes during a promotion [Fireworks Night], you lose the crowd,” JetHawk Manager Dave Brundage said. “But they were gaining interest as the game went on, especially in the eighth and ninth inning.”
