Woman, 35, Stabbed During Argument
An escalating argument at a Newbury Park home early Sunday morning sent one woman to the hospital with a stab wound to her face.
Maria Rodriguez, 35, of Newbury Park was treated at Los Robles Regional Medical Center and released.
Ventura County sheriff’s deputies arrested Jaime Flores, 28, of Newbury Park on suspicion of stabbing Rodriguez.
According to the Sheriff’s Department, Flores and his brother, Jesus, went to the house on Calle Diamonte just after midnight. Once there, they became involved in a fight with their sister’s boyfriend. Rodriguez tried to intervene and was stabbed in the face.
When deputies arrived, Flores was trying to drive away. Deputies stopped him and found a folding-blade knife in his car.
