MAI to Buy Hotel Information Systems

IRVINE — MAI Systems Corp. signed an agreement to buy Hotel Information Systems Inc., based in Concord, Calif., for $10.9 million in MAI common stock and certain liabilities.
MAI said the acquisition, which is expected to close in the third quarter, will allow it to offer the hospitality industry a variety of technologies on hardware and software environments.
MAI said Hotel Information’s Hong Kong and Singapore units are expected to help the company provide hospitality and gaming technology products into Asia’s fast-growing markets.
