SANTA ANA — County officials have selected a veteran county clerk from Northern California to be Orange County’s new clerk of the Board of Supervisors, a position that has been vacant for more than a year.
Darlene Bloom served as clerk of the board in Fresno County for six years, and more recently worked as assistant clerk for Alameda County.
If the Board of Supervisors approves her selection next week, Bloom will earn $72,420 a year and oversee a department that prepares board agendas and handles property tax assessment appeals.
The post has been vacant since November 1994, when Phyllis Henderson stepped down.
