Santana Falters in JetHawks’ 9-4 Loss
A three-run home run by Gary Hust off Marino Santana in the bottom of the sixth inning carried the Modesto A’s to a 9-4 victory over the JetHawks on Thursday night at John Thurman Field.
The JetHawks led, 4-2, to open the inning, when Santana (7-12) allowed a leadoff home run to Emil Brown, walked a batter, hit a batter, then gave up the homer to Hust, his first.
Chris Dean and Scot Sealy each had three hits for the JetHawks, 17-18 in the second half.
JetHawk Shane Monahan went hitless, his 19-game hitting streak snapped. Teammate Scott Smith, who doubled, has hit safely in 11 games in a row, and 16 of 17.
