INCLINE VILLAGE--Nature is the backdrop for the 18th annual Shakespeare at Sand Harbor Festival, Aug. 2-Sept. 1. This year’s event features “Comedy of Errors” and “Much Ado About Nothing,” staged by the San Francisco Shakespeare Festival. Performances are in an outdoor bowl at Sand Harbor on Lake Tahoe’s North Shore. Tickets: $12-$20. OXNARD--Spicy fun awaits at the third annual Salsa Festival, Aug. 3-4 in Plaza Park, C and 5th streets. Salsa tastings, a variety of foods, arts and crafts, entertainment and food demonstrations are 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Sunday. MONTEREY--Celtic tradition is celebrated at the Scottish/Irish Festival and Games, 9 a.m.-6 p.m. Aug. 3-4 at the Monterey Fairgrounds. The 29th annual event features Celtic entertainment and pageantry; Highland dancing; sheep dog demonstrations; and Scottish and Irish foods and crafts. VICTORVILLE--The 100th anniversary of the car is saluted at the 49th annual San Bernardino County Fair, Aug. 3-11. The event, themed “Get Your Kicks at the San Bernardino County Fair” and emphasizing the fair’s proximity to historical Route 66, is held at the San Bernardino County Fairgrounds, 14800 7th St., 4 p.m.-midnight, Monday-Friday; noon-midnight Saturdays-Sundays. $5, general; $3, seniors; $2, kids 6-12; free for those under 6. Festivities, featuring exhibits and carnivals, open with a Route 66 Car Rally at 4 p.m. Aug. 3. The rally of pre-1969 vehicles begins at George Air Force Base and ends at the fairgrounds. SAN LUIS OBISPO--The annual Obon Festival, a colorful celebration of Japanese culture, is 2:30-8 p.m. Aug. 3 in the Veterans Memorial Building, 801 Grand Avenue.
