The fans flocking to the Stone Mountain Tennis Center are not quite as knowledgeable as those found at Grand Slam events. Tournament officials say they have been asked why the first two points of a game are worth 15 points and the third only 10.
And when Monica Seles rocketed Patricia Hy-Boulais’ serve into the corner for an easy point during their match Thursday, a man chided the Canadian competitor.
“He asked me why I didn’t hit it harder,” Hy-Boulais said. “I offered him a chance to come down and try.”
