Taking Bags Aboard Not Best Way to Carry On

“Unusual Ways to Earn Frequent-Flier Mileage Are Taking Wing” (On the Move, June 26) implies that checking baggage delays aircraft departures. My experience is the opposite. Excess carry-on baggage causes annoyed passengers, hunts for overhead storage, checking from the cabin and difficulty getting passengers seated.

Please say that you have it backward.
