It was as if the Atlanta Braves had never left home.

With the Olympics finally over, the Braves returned to Atlanta-Fulton County Stadium after a 17-game trip and routed the Philadelphia Phillies, 10-4, on Tuesday night.

“It was fun playing in front of the hometown fans after three weeks away,” Chipper Jones said. “We play well at home and we’ve got something like 15 of the next 19 here.”

Marquis Grissom had three of Atlanta’s 16 hits, including two of the Braves’ seven doubles. Jones also had three hits and two doubles for the Braves, who were 9-8 on their 18-day, five-city trip. Five pitchers combined on a three-hitter.
