Permit Fees on Quake Work Still Waived
The City Council has extended until Jan. 17 the waiver of permit fees to demolish, repair or rebuild property damaged in the 1994 Northridge earthquake.
About 30% of those tasks remain incomplete, said Nick Delli Quadri, spokesman for the city of Los Angeles Department of Building and Safety. “This just buys people more time,” he said.
The previous fee waiver expired June 30.
