Bat Busters Win ASA Opener, 7-1
The Orange County Bat Busters, which includes area players Kim Diener and Becca Baldridge, defeated the Kansas Shilos, 7-1, Wednesday in a first-round game of the 16-and-under Amateur Softball Assn. national tournament in Chattanooga, Tenn.
Diener of Alemany High pitched the seventh inning in relief, allowing no hits and one walk. Baldridge of Crescenta Valley High went one for three.

Alemany’s Regina Yuhasz singled home Agoura High’s Jennifer Grennan with two out in the top of the ninth to give the Valley Breeze a 4-3 victory over the Lucky Ladies.
Shannon McRoy of Saugus High added three hits, including a double and a run batted in.
Valley Breeze (1-0) will face the Parker Eagles of Tennessee today.
