A Redondo Beach man was killed when he was ejected from his vehicle after a collision with another car on the Hollywood Freeway in North Hollywood on Saturday evening, authorities said.
The identity of the 30-year-old man has not been released pending notification of his family, a Los Angeles County Coroner’s Department spokeswoman said Sunday.
The collision occurred as the man drove south in the carpool lane near Sherman Way, California Highway Patrol Officer Ken Lane said.
The victim was thrown from his car and onto the freeway. He was pronounced dead at the scene, Los Angeles City Fire Department spokesman Brian Humphrey said.
CHP officers are investigating the accident.
