Students’ Videos Judged State’s Best

Tustin High School won top honors in the 30th annual California Student Media Festival this summer.

More than 200 video, film and multimedia entries were submitted from students in elementary through high schools across the state.

Tustin High captured the Best Overall Production award for the video “My Life With the Green Bike,” a story of an eccentric bicycle rider. The award will bring Tustin High $1,000 for the purchase of video equipment.

The winning video, which also won the Best Use of Music award, was written, directed, edited and produced by student Penny Wilson, with help from students David Bowden, Danny Villa, Nancy Comparan and Josh Morrison.

Student Lori Loder won the Best Performance in a Video award for “A Tale to Tell,” the story of a group of young campers sitting around a fire telling stories.
