United’s Quick Start Bad News for Mutiny

Steve Rammel and Jaime Moreno scored first-half goals four minutes apart and D.C. United won its third consecutive game, defeating the Tampa Bay Mutiny, 3-0, on Sunday at Washington D.C.

Before 15,804 at RFK Stadium, Kris Kelderman scored in the second half and Mark Simpson made four saves for his third shutout of the season for the United (13-14).

San Jose 1, Colorado 0--Missael Espinoza’s goal 35 seconds into the game was all the Clash (13-13) needed in front of 12,369 at San Jose.

Eric Wynalda started the winning play with a corner kick to John Doyle, who headed it to Espinoza. The Clash goal broke a 193-minute scoring drought.
