10 Students Attend 4-H Club Conference
Ten students in the Santa Ana Unified School District’s migrant education program attended a 4-H Club leadership conference at UC Davis this month with scholarships provided by the 4-H organization.
The money, a total of about $2,000, helped pay for room, board and conference fees. The school district’s migrant education program added another $1,000 for plane fares, said Olga Wong, a community assistant with the program.
The students, 14 to 16 years old, were selected based on their academic achievements. They are Berenice Botello, Carlos Buenrrostro, Maria Cebreros, Martin Cebreros, Gabriela Espinoza, Andy Flores, Gustavo Peralta, Victor Tapia, Julio Heredia and Raul Zavala.
