3 Oxnard Men Stabbed in Fight at Wedding Reception
Three Oxnard residents were recovering Monday from stab wounds they received when a wedding reception turned into a brawl, authorities said.
Hugh Hernandez and Lisa Castillo Hernandez were hosting a wedding reception Saturday at the Veterans of Foreign Wars Hall in Ventura when several guests became involved in a fight in the rear parking lot, police said.
Other guests tried to break up the fight, but not before three people were stabbed and several others were beaten, said Ventura Police Sgt. George Morris.
Pedro Rosales, 32, and Joe Sotelo, 47, were both stabbed in the stomach, and Oscar Hernandez Gonzales, 19, was stabbed in the ribs. The men were treated at area hospitals and released.
Ventura police officers said they stopped the fight and arrested Anthony Ochoa, 23, of Camarillo. He was booked at Ventura County Jail on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon.
