Aliso Niguel will open its third full varsity football season tonight at Columbus (Ohio) Hilliard.

Aliso Niguel was 8-3-1 last season and qualified for the Southern Section playoffs.

Quarterback Scott Nemeth (12 touchdowns, six interceptions) and running back Trent Perley (5.2 yards per carry) lead the Wolverines, who are playing with their first class of seniors.

Three coaches will not return to Bolsa Grande this year, including boys’ basketball Coach Dick Braderich, who resigned for personal reasons, Athletic Director Ron Inman said.
