Grant to Aid Group of Grandparents, Kids
The Irvine Health Foundation has awarded a $14,600 grant to Hearts United: Grandparents-Grandchildren, a nonprofit group that offers assistance to grandparents who are raising their children’s children.
The grant will be used by the organization to provide psychological care, legal assistance and educational programs to the Orange County grandparents and grandchildren it serves. Most of the grandparents who benefit from Hearts United are responsible for caring for their grandchildren because of parents’ death or abandonment, officials said.
The Irvine Health Foundation raises financial support for health-related programs across Orange County.
