Body of Man Killed in Car Accident Identified
Authorities on Saturday identified the body of man found in a wrecked car on Guiberson Road as 35-year-old Guadalupe Orozco of Fillmore.
Orozco and the car’s driver, Orlando Estrada, 25, also of Fillmore, were on their way to a nearby ranch to do some work about 6:30 p.m. Friday when Estrada apparently lost control of the vehicle on a curve about four miles east of California 23, said Senior Deputy Coroner Craig Stevens of the county Medical Examiner’s Office.
The car hit an embankment and flipped at least once before coming to rest on its wheels. Passing motorists found the car about 8:30 p.m. Orozco was dead of massive head injuries, Stevens said.
Estrada later showed up at his Fillmore home. He was treated for a minor concussion at Santa Paula Memorial Hospital and released, Stevens said.
Police are investigating why Estrada left the crash scene.
