GOLD FEVER: Strike gold every time at an exhibit where a prospector teaches California history, while gold panners have some fun.

JUGGLING: A rock ‘n’ roll juggler will perform for children as he handles clubs, balls, hats and rings at the Pepper Street stage at 1:30, 3:30 and 6 p.m.

CONTESTS: Visitors can enter the ice cream eating competition at the Fairplex Plaza stage at 4 p.m., the best chicken recipe at the Creative Homemaking site at 7 p.m. and an apple pie contest at 6 p.m. There’s also dot painting at 4:30 p.m. at America’s Kid stage and candy making at 5:30 p.m.

ENTERTAINMENT: Jazz and rhythm and blues will be performed by keyboardist David Benoit and saxophonist Boney James. Concert begins at 8 p.m. at the grandstand.

SPORTS ART: An exhibit commemorating the Olympic Games, “Art and the Athlete,” will include posters from the 1900 Olympics in Paris to this year’s games in Atlanta. Works from painter LeRoy Neiman, known for his vividly colored sports art, and pop art icon Andy Warhol are also on display at the Millard Sheets Gallery.

GOSPEL MUSIC: A program of gospel music will be offered at the Good Music stage at 7 p.m.

The fair runs today through Sept. 29 at the L.A. Fairplex, 1101 W. McKinley Ave., Pomona. 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. Friday through Sunday. Admission is $9, $7 for senior citizens and $5 for ages 6 to 12. (909) 623-3111.
