Fire Causes $130,000 in Damage at Warehouse

Investigators are still trying to determine the cause of a fire Wednesday night in a warehouse at Sycamore Drive Community Center.

The fire in the 1600 block of Sycamore Drive was reported about 7:30 p.m.

It caused about $130,000 in damage, county Fire Department spokeswoman Karen Nelson said.

Authorities contained the fire at 8:23 p.m. There were no injuries, she said.

The blaze did not affect Thursday’s activities at the center, receptionist Becky Brown said.

Damage to the structure was estimated at $80,000; damage to the contents was about $50,000, Nelson said.
