Crecion Prominent in New Schemes

The four-day practice week is over for UCLA, which does not play this weekend, and Coach Bob Toledo pronounced the time well spent.

“We did some fundamental things,” Toledo said. “We looked at the kicking game and put in some things to look at for the Michigan game [Sept. 28].”

They include freshman tight end Gabe Crecion, who has been injured since the first week of two-a-days, suffering a stress reaction--precursor to a stress fracture--in his left foot.

Crecion, considered a badly needed pass-receiving threat, is working at both tight end and H-back, with tight ends Jamal Clark and Tyrone Pierce doing the heavy-duty blocking work.
