Senior PGA Tour veteran Simon Hobday of South Africa is an unconventional type, as noted by Phil Richards of the Indianapolis Star:

“On a beastly hot day in beastly hot Sun City, South Africa, during the mid-1980s, Hobday was playing a tournament at Gary Player GC when he arrived in a full sweat at a par-three hole that played across a lake.”

Said John Bland, a senior player, who witnessed what happened next: “He hit his shot, took his clothes off, swam across in his underwear and got dressed on the other side.”

Player is still amazed. “There are crocodiles in that lake,” he said. “Those crocodiles will eat you up like a sardine for breakfast.”
