Los Angeles Cathedral 45, Calvary Chapel 20--Visiting Cathedral had five touchdown drives, each highlighted by a play of more than 50 yards, to build a 39-7 halftime lead at Saddleback College.

Chris Hanks, who set up the first touchdown on a 62-yard run, had two scoring runs of 63 and 97 yards to account for 255 yards in eight carries in the opening half. The Phantoms also scored on touchdown passes from J.C. Castaneda to Jose Fernandez for 64 and 52 yards.

Calvary Chapel (0-2) scored in the second quarter on a 17-yard pass from Daniel Murrietta to Zak Davis.

The Eagles bounced back with two third-quarter touchdown runs by Rico Andino for three and 11 yards, but the Phantoms countered with an 85-yard kickoff return by Alfonso Martinez.

Murrietta completed 14 of 25 passes for 222 yards but it was not enough to overcome the long-distance attack of Cathedral (2-0). Cathedral had 420 yards in the first half.
