Soccer

The first week of the season was a rough one for the Irvine Valley women’s soccer team. The Lasers played reasonably well, but the offense produced only one goal in two losses and a tie. The outburst came last week when Irvine Valley, led by Allen, scored 14 goals in two games. Allen, from Woodbridge High, had two goals in a 7-0 victory over San Bernardino Valley Wednesday. Allen added three more in 7-0 victory over San Diego City Friday.

* Saddleback, sophomore. She had 17 kills in a four-game victory over Shoreline and added 10 kills in a three-game sweep of Rio Hondo.
