St. Genevieve 34, Western Christian 14--Clifford Rivera rushed for 204 yards in 14 carries and scored on runs of 96, 10 and seven yards for the Valiants in a nonleague game at Charter Oak High in Covina.

Danny Buhler rushed for 87 yards in 12 carries and scored two touchdowns for St. Genevieve (1-2). The Valiants rushed for 353 yards.

St. Genevieve’s defense held the Lancers (0-3) to 159 total yards, including 49 rushing.

Western Christian’s Anthony Spunk returned a punt 78 yards for a touchdown in the second quarter. The Lancers scored again with two minutes to play.
