DALLAS COWBOYS at PHILADELPHIA EAGLES
Channel 7, 6 p.m.
The Cowboys are down to their last gasp, and it couldn’t happen to a nicer bunch of arrogant guys. It’s up to Coach Barry Switzer to rally an offense ranked No. 24 in the NFL; did someone yell, “punt”? Philadelphia has the No. 1 offense and a reminder of Switzer’s proclamation last year that the Cowboys had kicked the Eagles’ butt in the playoffs.
--Say what: Emmitt Smith. Switzer says Smith “is not 100%,” and he also says, “We have to run the football, and if we don’t, we don’t have a chance.” You figure it out.
--Player to watch: If the Cowboys are relying on Troy Aikman to save the day, they might be in further trouble. Aikman has struggled against Philadelphia, completing only 52.4% of his passes with nine touchdowns and 13 interceptions in 12 games against the Eagles.
--Finally: Ricky Watters has been unstoppable for the Eagles, but the Cowboys have given up only one rushing touchdown.
