San Diego State Reschedules Game

San Diego State’s home game against Air Force on Saturday has been moved to Thanksgiving Day because of the baseball playoffs. The Padres will play Game 3 of their best-of-five series against St. Louis Saturday at Jack Murphy Stadium.

Air Force and San Diego State officials considered moving their game to Friday night, but Air Force Coach Fisher DeBerry rejected that idea.

Florida State will learn the NCAA’s decision today on its appeal of a one-year probation handed down in March.

Mississippi State’s Keffer McGee, the Southeastern Conference’s leading rusher, is out for the season because of torn knee ligaments. The Bulldogs also lost defense tackle James Grier because of torn knee ligaments. Both players were injured against South Carolina Saturday.

Auburn Coach Terry Bowden was scheduled for surgery today to repair a herniated disk in his neck. Bowden, who first complained of neck and arm pain a month ago, will be hospitalized through Thursday. He expects to be on the sidelines Saturday when his 20th-ranked Tigers play South Carolina.

Mo Collins, an offensive tackle for top-ranked Florida, has been suspended for taking money from an individual associated with a sports agent, according to university officials. He started all 13 games in 1995 as a freshman and the first three games of this season. Redshirt freshman Cooper Carlisle has replaced him.
