Part of Ventura Blvd. to Close for Street Fair

Live entertainment, rides, games and more than 250 booths with arts, crafts and food for sale are all part of the Sherman Oaks Street Fair and Carnival, continuing today and Sunday along several blocks of Ventura Boulevard.

A stretch of Ventura Boulevard between Van Nuys Boulevard and Kester Avenue will be closed to traffic Sunday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. for the street fair portion of the event.

Ventura Boulevard will remain open today, with attractions confined to sidewalks and several lots located between Sepulveda and Beverly Glen boulevards.

Thousands of people are expected to attend. Entertainment includes magicians, a petting zoo, puppet shows, belly dancing, musical acts and a children’s activity area.

The fair is open today from noon to 11:00 p.m. and Sunday from 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.

Admission and parking in designated lots is free. Fees will be charged for carnival rides.
