Cobain Still Reigns

Share

Some 2 1/2 years after the suicide of singer Kurt Cobain, Nirvana’s appeal endures. The Seattle band’s collection of live songs, “From the Muddy Banks of the Wishkah,” debuts at No. 1 on The Times’ Southern California chart after its first week in stores. Tool’s “Aenima” checks in at No. 2 on both the local and national charts. Meanwhile, the Westside Connection’s “Bow Down” was bounced from the top of the local singles chart by Blackstreet’s infectious “No Diggity,” which includes a guest rap by Dr. Dre.
