So far this season, the Philadelphia Flyers have had a miserable time without injured superstar Eric Lindros.

Sunday night was no different.

The Calgary Flames got 27 saves from Trevor Kidd as they defeated the Flyers, 1-0, at Philadelphia.

“Our defense was really strong,” said Kidd, who handed the Flyers their first home shutout since a Jan. 13 loss to the New York Rangers. “We’re playing with a lot of confidence right now.”

Playing without Lindros, out because of a groin pull, the Flyers scored only one goal in weekend losses to the New York Islanders and Flames, and have 10 goals in five games.

“We’re having a little problem generating some offense now,” said Lindros’ linemate John LeClair. “We didn’t get enough hits on their defensemen, which made it easy for them to break up our attack.”

Dallas 5, Chicago 3--The Stars continued their franchise-best start with their fifth consecutive victory at Chicago.

Greg Adams, Benoit Hogue and Grant Marshall each scored in a three-goal, second-period outburst and Dave Reid and Guy Carbonneau added short-handed goals for the Stars, who remained the NHL’s only unbeaten or untied team.
