More Buys for Westec

Westec Security Inc. said Monday it has expanded its California operations by acquiring Universal Systems Inc., a residential security services firm serving the Santa Barbara area. The acquisition is the third by Westec in the state in the last six months. Universal Systems will be merged into Westec over the next few weeks and will become a Westec branch office.

In March, Westec acquired Sonoma Marin Alarm Co., which serves the San Rafael area, and in June, the company acquired AAA Alarm Co. to obtain a significant share of the San Jose market.
