Royal 21, Channel Islands 20--Raider kicker Ryan Brunsell’s 47-yard field goal with one second remaining sailed wide to the right at Channel Islands to give Royal (1-5, 1-2) its first victory.

The Highlanders led, 14-0, in the second quarter after a 43-yard interception return by defensive back Ray Gaudioso in the first quarter and a 10-yard pass play from Braden Fien to Ryan Nielsen.

Charles Rosales returned a Royal fumble 47 yards with 5:44 left in the first half to cut the lead to 14-7.

Channel Islands (1-5, 0-3) came back on a pair of Jack Ciari touchdown pass plays to Sean Biggs (41 yards) and Ryan Yvarra (eight yards) in the fourth quarter.
