Carpinteria 17, Fillmore 3--Luis Hernandez kicked a 37-yard field goal for Fillmore three minutes into the game, but that was it for the Flashes (2-4) in their league opener.
Herman Sotelo kicked a 45-yard field goal, Rich Stephens scored on a eight-yard run and Chris Requejo caught an 18-yard touchdown pass from Wel-Jara Johnson, all in the second quarter for Carpinteria (2-4).
Fillmore was led by running back Timmy Pillado, who carried 13 times for 48 yards. Philip Zavala completed eight of 15 passes for 69 yards.
