District Debate Team Talks Its Way to Top

Saddleback Community College District’s forensics team has won its first speech competition of the year, held recently at Biola University.

The team, made up of students from Irvine Valley and Saddleback colleges, won the sweepstakes trophy, defeating second-place Orange Coast College by nearly double its score, as well as teams from four-year universities.

Team members also won individual awards, including students Taline Snell and Eric Blumel, who placed first in the debates.
