Bloomie’s Sees 1997 Dressed in Pastels

What’s going to be hot next year in Orange County’s fashion world?

Upscale shoppers will get another arbiter of taste in November when the Bloomingdale’s chain opens its store at Fashion Island in Newport Beach.

The fashion word according to Bloomie’s: close-fitting body shirts that are “sometimes worn a bit open,” multiple strands of “Jackie O inspired beads,” pants that are “narrow [and] hip-riding,” and square-toed shoes. As for colors, Bloomingdale’s predicts soft pastels, lemon yellow and winter white.
