Injury Ends Robinson’s Career at Chapman

Share

Chapman senior quarterback Curtis Robinson sustained a season-ending knee injury Saturday in the Panthers’ 35-21 victory over Occidental.

The injury--a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament--is the same type and to the same knee as the one that ended Robinson’s 1995 season. Robinson, who received a hardship medical redshirt after the injury and reconstructive surgery last season, was having the best season of his college career.

Robinson had passed for 898 yards and 13 touchdowns and rushed for 222 yards before the injury. He twisted the knee trying to make a cut during a 17-yard gain in the first quarter.

Backup Greg Hyland, who replaced Robinson last season, passed for 225 yards and three touchdowns Saturday.
