An American Airlines jet that originated in Burbank skidded off the runway while trying to land in snowy conditions here Sunday night. No injuries were reported.

Police found the plane stuck in the mud near the runway at Hopkins International Airport, Sgt. Robert Csongedi said.

Passengers said the pilot made a hard right to avoid some light fixtures at the end of the runway before bringing the plane to a stop.

Everyone was evacuated, Csongedi said.

Flight 544 originated in Burbank, stopped in Dallas and went on to Cleveland, an American Airlines dispatcher said. It was a McDonnell-Douglas Super 80--a mid-size jet that holds 132 to 172 people, she said.

It was not known how many passengers and crew were on the plane.

Some parts of the Cleveland area received up to a foot of snow over the weekend. Another lake-effect storm moved into the city Sunday night.
