The Irvine Unified School District will break ground for the city’s fourth high school at a ceremony next week.

Northwood High School, to open in the fall of 1999, will be at the extension of Yale Avenue and Portola Parkway, now under construction. The new school will serve students in neighborhoods north of Trabuco Boulevard and east of Culver Drive.

Residents may attend the ceremony from 3 to 4 p.m. Monday. Parking will be along Culver Drive just south of Hicks Canyon wash. The school district will provide bus shuttle services to and from the site.
