Hazardous Waste Disposal Offered
Valley residents may drop off hazardous waste Thursday through Saturday and Nov. 21-23 at the West Valley Municipal Building parking lot in Reseda, Los Angeles City Councilwoman Laura Chick announced.
“This is a very worthwhile program that enables people to dispose of their hazardous materials in a safe, legal and environmentally friendly way,” said Chick.
Collection will run from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. each day, and appointments are required.
The city will accept paint, solvents, household cleaners, aerosol cans, oil, antifreezes, pesticides, fertilizers, batteries, automotive chemicals, garden chemicals and medicine.
It will not accept ammunition, biological waste, explosives, radioactive material, or tires.
To schedule an appointment or get more information, call (800) 98-TOXIC [988-6942].
