Mark Leonard, the J. Paul Getty Museum’s conservator of paintings, will present a lecture, “Removing the Veils of Time: Recent Painting Restorations From the Huntington Art Collections,” on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m., at the Huntington Library, Art Collections and Botanical Gardens in San Marino.
The program will focus on five Huntington paintings restored by Leonard and his colleagues at the Getty Museum. Most recently completed is J.M.W. Turner’s luminous work “The Grand Canal, Venice: Shylock,” which was returned to the Huntington last month after a six-month treatment in the Getty’s conservation lab.
