Milestone Does Not Concern Fitch

Bill Fitch, who has coached more games than any other NBA coach, is one loss away from becoming the first to lose 1,000 games. Fitch has compiled an 896-999 record in 24 seasons.

But the milestone doesn’t bother Fitch.

“I don’t think I’m going to be around for 2,000,” Fitch said. “It’s taken a lot of good players to keep me around this long.”

Although Fitch said he was considering changing his starting lineup after Friday night’s seven-point loss to the Lakers, he employed the same one he has used for the first eight games.

Forward Loy Vaught, who shot 21.5% in his last five games, made six of 14 shots and had 12 points and 10 rebounds.

However, center Kevin Duckworth, who had only two points in his last four games, missed three of four shots and had three points and no rebounds in 13 minutes.

The Bucks activated former Clipper center Keith Tower and put center Andrew Lang on the injured list because of tendinitis in his right Achilles’ tendon.

Tower, who was waived by the Clippers at the end of last season, had no points and one rebound in 20 minutes.
