Hearing on MCA Expansion Delayed

Share

The date for the first public hearing to discuss MCA’s plan to more than double development at its Universal City property has been pushed back from December to January.

And in another sign that the massive development is already encountering delays, Los Angeles City Councilman John Ferraro has asked the Los Angeles County Planning Department to lengthen the time granted for public review and comment on the project.

In a letter to Geoffrey Taylor, county administrator of regional planning, Ferraro requested that the public comment period be extended from Dec. 20 to “the latest date possible in January after the first public hearing.”

Taylor said the target date for the first public hearing is Jan. 15, but it could be later.
